Shipping & Delivery Policy
At Modern-Planters, we take extreme pride in the craftsmanship of our custom fiberglass planters. Because our products are often oversized and high-end, we utilize specialized freight carriers to ensure they arrive safely at your project site.
1. Shipping Methods & Carriers
•    Small Items: Standard ground shipping (UPS/FedEx) is used for small accessories only.
•    Oversized Planters: The majority of our products ship via LTL (Less Than Truckload) Freight. These are secured to custom-built wooden pallets and shrink-wrapped for maximum protection.
•    Curbside Delivery: Standard freight delivery is "curbside." The driver will unload the pallet at the end of your driveway or loading dock. They are not responsible for moving the planters into your building or onto your patio.
2. Freight Costs & Lead Times
•    Quotes: Due to the oversized nature of fiberglass, shipping rates are calculated based on dimensions and weight.
•    Production Lead Time: Custom planters typically require 2-3 weeks for fabrication before they are ready to ship.
•    Transit Time: Once dispatched, freight delivery usually takes 3–7 business days depending on your location.
3. Critical: Receiving & Inspection Instructions
Because fiberglass can be damaged if mishandled by carriers, you must inspect the shipment before signing the Delivery Receipt (BOL).
1.    Inspect the Packaging: Look for torn shrink wrap, broken pallets, or "tip-n-tell" sensors that have been activated.
2.    Note Damage on the BOL: If you see any signs of damage, you must write "Damaged" on the driver’s paperwork before they leave.
3.    Hidden Damage: Open your crates within 24 hours. If you find damage after the driver has left, take clear photos immediately and contact us.

Returns & Exchanges
1. Custom Orders
Please note that custom-made fiberglass planters are non-returnable. Each piece is manufactured to your specific color, finish, and size requirements. We highly recommend verifying all dimensions and color codes before finalizing your order.
2. Return Shipping (LTL Only)
For eligible returns (e.g., non-custom stock items), the following rules apply:
•    LTL Return Requirement: Because of their size, these items cannot be returned via standard mail. They must be shipped back via LTL freight on a pallet.
•    Original Packaging: The customer is responsible for securing the planter to a pallet using original or equivalent protective packaging to prevent transit damage.
•    Restocking Fees: Returns are subject to a 25% restocking fee.
•    Shipping Costs: Original shipping fees are non-refundable, and the customer is responsible for the cost of return freight.

4. Pro-Tips for Your Policy
Note to Owner: Consider adding a "White Glove" option if you have the capability. This allows customers to pay extra for drivers to uncrate the planters and remove the debris, which is a common request for high-end residential or commercial projects.
